Just added to the store!

These new lovelies are now in the store, as well as some other unsold or unpaid for gems!

Our favourite item for the upcoming southern hemisphere Summer is this vintage 80s strapless dress, reminiscent of the best of Ken Done. Lovely heart-shaped bodice and ruched back, full skirt. Hot!

But just so the northerners aren't forgotten, we've added this cute knit dress from label Peter Lord. It has the cutest little neck tie and a pretty mini-concertina pleated skirt:

OMFG Built By Wendy SALE!!!!!

Head over to Built By Wendy, where there is a 50% sale going on. I have my eye on these items...

WARDROBE REMIX: what lies beneath the winter coat...

I wore it, but no one saw it. Spent the day walking about dressed as you see here, except with two extra much uglier, but much warmer layers for the outside weather. I'm having trouble finding stylish but functional outerwear, it's a big investment so I've been super indecisive about what to go with, and I still have no idea of what a real Winter will throw at me. Got any advice, Northern Hemispherians?

Anyhoo, the inspiration behind this smock was Wiksten's 2007 Portland Jumper:

Naturally, I missed out when it was in her store. I don't think it'll ever come back (sniff), but when I found this Antipodium number and it was not insanely priced AND it was by a local designer, I thought why not?

Vain & Vapid New Collection!

I am so excited about the new Vain and Vapid Winter Collection!

All the commenters are be raving in particular about the Crosby Dress (I was one of them!) so I'm fearful that my super clicking skills won't be super enough when the shop gets updated (today? Tomorrow?). But here's hoping!

The button front skirt

Right now I'm wishing I had a high waisted button front skirt in my wardrobe...

It really all began with the Alison skirt from Wiksten's Fall Collection, but I missed out. I had my eye on the vintage one from Liebemarlene that eventually fell into the hands of Ms Thecatspajamas, but decided I would look out for one myself. How much do I regret it now that I've seen it rocked so hard and so well?

If I had access to a sewing machine I might be tempted to make the Wiksten version, as her pattern for it appears in the latest issue of Stitch Magazine (woohoo!), but I think what I need to do is publicly wish for it on this blog and hopefully ABSY WILL TAKE THE HINT AND PUT HER SEWING ROOM TO GOOD USE FOR MY BENEFIT.

WARDROBE REMIX: Harmonica Practice in Plaid

Here I am writing on behalf of Abs, who has been learning the harmonica for a while. She's pretty good, but you should also see her on her bass guitar. Phwoar! Maybe she'll blog about it sometime (hint, hint).

I've always been mildly envious of Abs' ownership of this dress...At one point I think she was going to put in the store, which gave me some hope, but then she came to her senses.

Dress: Vintage Plaid Summer Frock (Zoo Emporium)
Shoes: Vintage black patent leather bow flats (Goodwill)
Harmonica: Borrowed from The Slowburners lead
Vintage Modular Couch - eBay
Cushions - homemade by Absy

Cotton Love

Oh hello again!

During my many hours online, I came across Cotton Love, a vintage clothing eBay store FOR DUDES, YES THEY EXIST:

(via Cotton Love)

They're based in the UK, so there are some lovely warm Winter things up for grabs! They seem pretty popular actually, I think perhaps I'm just a little slow on the uptake when it comes with men's vintage, but what the hey.

EBAY Now!

Hey everyone! We're still riding on the Obama-high right now but have managed to calm down enough to update the store, including the awesome classy Malcolm Starr number we blogged about before:

Red Gloves

I'm preparing for my first real winter so I need accessories to keep my extremities warm!

I found these pretty gloves through a friend:

Her work has such intricate and cute embroidery, and I want I want I want! Wouldn't you love these to keep you warm?

She runs an Etsy store for her label Little Toadstool.
She is a much more prolific Wardrobe Remixer than us!
She has an English blog!
